Theatrically Acting Up &

Empowering Youth

since 2008

All ACT UP! classes are taught by highly trained, professional actors.

Our mission is to empower our students by promoting self-expression, collaboration, creative risk-taking and strengthening effective communication skills while providing superior training in the performing arts.

We're proud that some of our ACT UP! alumni have gone on to star in blockbuster films and to perform in leading roles on Broadway and win Tony Award Honors.

Regardless of where our students' individual paths may lead, it is a privilege to witness their talent and self-confidence blossom and grow throughout their time with us at ACT UP!

Who we are...

Logan Mecklenburg (Creative Director & Teaching Artist) has nearly three decades of experience in the arts. She earned her BFA in Theatre Arts from University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has since performed on stage and television, and directed theatrical events.

Logan founded Act Up! in 2008, bringing high quality performing arts training to schools throughout the Tampa Bay area. A number of Act Up! students have gone on to star in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions as well as major motion pictures.

Logan spent nearly two decades teaching acting classes to a widely diverse range of students, all over the Tampa/St Petersburg area– including American Stage Theatre, Creative Clay, the Pinellas County Juvenile Detention Center, Youth Arts Corps, as well as a wide range of local private and public schools. She's also had the pleasure of being a frequent state and district thespian festival adjudicator.

In 2023, Logan happily relocated from the tropical humidity and sunshine of Florida to the beautiful PNW, bringing Act Up! with her.
